I want to accomplish by working with clippers. I'm scared to go in their hair and scoop it out because either i might take too much hair or not amount of hair that needs to take out. I want to practice more on manikin with different blades and blending in with the hair to make it even. Also i want to speed up my time on cutting more and make it look nice.

There are several things that I would like to accomplish. My first thing is, I would like to learn how to do the fancy hair styles. I would like to work in a steady pace and do at least 3 hairstyles in a hour in a half. one of my main goals is to be business minded about my career. And in order for me to do this, I pay close attention to my owner and manager.

I want to become much more confident in doing everything that we've learned in school. I esp. need help with womens haircuts & hairstyles. I want to be able to just look at a picture of a haircut/style & be able to do it.

I would like to accomplish special requests for Mary! I've only received one so far and this is not enough for me. When clients leave my chair they are happy and damn, they look good. Oh and it didn't take all day either. I can't wait for more requests.

I agree with you Michelle. If I could do all the latest hairstyles I would be booming. If I could do fancy hair styles I would be even better than that. Keeping a business attitude is something that I need to work on way more though.

I Would like to become a more advanced hairstyles and barber while working in my extern salon. I also would like to become quicker and able to handle different problems without having someone always helping me. By the end of my extern I would also like to be able to attract male and female clients to my chair on a steady bases.

I feel the same way as lee, as far as attracting male clients to my chair. where im at theres only one barber and men come get their hair cut often, i want to be able to cut men hair with no problem at all. i want them to come to my chair and leave happy although i didnt have much hand on with the clippers i watch enough and i feel down the line after practice i'll have down.

Mary cera i know what you mean about those special request it makes you feel good when some wants you and you only. and time is money clients want to get in and out, you dont need to spend 4HOURS on one client! once you give them that good shampoo everything else is smooth sailing!

I agree with Mary about having request for yourself. I would like to build a clientele. I would also like to learn more women's cuts. I want to learn more styling too, because that is included with services at my salon.

From this extern experience I want to leant mnay different styling techniques. Such as weaving and the type of styles that you see in the BIG hairshows. I also want to work on my people skills; especially when it comes to greeting people face to face that you don't know... I love making others and myself look good, so I am excited to get out here permanently...

Ok, Inda, first of all men are not going to think your good because, oh yes it's because you're a woman!
And that is just the way it is. Ok Mr. Phillip and Mr. Lee I'll be waiting for your response.
It's so typical. Yes, I'm the man hater ha ha ha.

Mary you can go far with that mouth of yours. I learned by being in my salon that people who talk alot attracts the most clients.Keep on yapping and you'll see the end off the road.

hahaha, you guys are hilarious! i would also LOVE a clientelle. but i think i need to work on making conversation with people i dont know. so far my friends have all come in and gotten haircuts and i can talk all day with them.
i really want to get accurate in a little less time then i am now. i have learned soo much about taper haircuts and little tricks that dont jeopardize the accuracy but bring down my time. so hopefully in a couple months i'll have at least some people that request me regularly, that i dont know, and will be good enough in record time.

I believe that time management is very important. And since our time is money. I feel that's way this is something that i need work in. And staying/being sufficent in everything i do.

mary cera, i totally agree with you. it is really hard to get a good reputation for cutting when it comes to men. but all you gotta do is step up to the challenge and show them how it is and they'll get over the whole "i don't want a woman cutting my hair" shpiel...

i would like to improve on my cutting and curling skills. i think i'm doing an excellent job with they whole cutting thing and my cut time is getting shorter and shorter by the day, whiich is brunging up my productivity. as far as my curling goes, i'm getting a lot better on that too, but that's more from practicing in school than from the externship...

-i agree 100% w/ michele is saying, all it takes for me is to look/study what i see someone else is doing one time than i go out and buy all these different color weaves and practice on my manikins to see if i can achieve the same styles. i always do positve work because i focus and take my time. i do want to learn more on clipper cuts on men and women, but for now i practice non-stp on my manikin when i don't have a client.

I agree with Mary. I also would like to be able to look at a picture and recreate the style on a client. I feel like there is so much left to learn even though school is almost over.

Ok Mr. Lee, Guess what?
I have got men coming in requesting Mary Cera. So, who knows maybe it's a combination of my mouth and my skills. I knew you guys would take that the wrong way. At first a man isn't going to think your'e good until they see your cut. So I've got my clientele of both men and women and in one year from now I'm taking my manager's job.
Peace out.
